Blog Entry 10
I have to say that I was worried when I knew it was the final paper. I was still a little confused with the genre and I was unsure how I would write a paper about it. However, once i got rolling on the ideas that I had,and after I read a few other examples I really got the hang of it.
My plans to keep writing and expanding on it are to write about the last two papers that we have written. This will complete my part on each paper and the portion of my definition of I that it has given me. I will talk about how i have grown through these essays and these challenges. I would also like to write a paragraph on how the bloging process has helped me and how it has changed me as a writer. I know that is very important to my process and it is important that i include it.
In addition to the above things i would also like to write a paragraph on how my sister and prof have helped me to become a better writer. I will use this kind of like a dedication portion because it is very true. I believe that the meaning of I is understanding that each and every person on this earth is pieces of everyone that they have encountered along the way on their journey. I want to be able to show that and to explain how it is changing how i write and who i am in a good way. I will then have a good closing paragraph with my definition of what is I, for me that is, and that the definition will continue to change as i change.

Autoethnography Workshop
An autoethnography is the experiences and culture that make someone who they are. I chose my template because it is pink and it is happy with hearts. I am not always all smiles, but i love the color pink and i love happy looking things like that. I was immediately drawn to that one when i was browsing through the different ones. I chose that picture of me because it was really me just happy and smiling. I took it myself as i do many of my facebook profile pictures, but i liked it. I wrote the things i did on my about page to give the audience, my peers and really anyone who reads it, a good general idea of who i am. I hold very little back about the rough past that i have faced because those happenings have helped to make me who i am today and who i will be in the future. I like to describe what makes me, me to those reading and to tell them something unique about myself. I linked to my sisters blog because she keeps one in a professional way. She writes for a paper in St. Louis IL and she posts all of her articles there. I am so very proud of her. I also have facebook liked and a link to 2 of my favorite shows, Will and Grace and Ghost Hunters. I love these shows for very different reasons. I love my very first blog post. Yes, i have grown over the past 10 weeks, but i still love my first post. I think my audience was anyone who was willing to read it. If someone else and written this and it was my job to comment on it i would probably say something like “this is great. it really got my attention”. I still agree with what i wrote in that first post. I agree with the words that i said but i also agree with how i structure the blog entry. I had a way to grab the readers attention and i hoped to engage them in the whole process which i believe i was able to do. Originally i did not use any kind of sources to help me prove my point. However, knowing what i know now i could easily find some cool pieces of writing to go along with how i tried to get the readers attention. I could find some great definition or maybe some interest facts. Autoethnography is a form of phenomenological research because it they both have to do with personal experiences and cultures. (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy para 2). It could also be experiences that are directly related to an object or person.

Touch Workshop
Upon feeling this mystery object I was immediately able to identify what it was made of. It was hard plastic which I, for some odd reason, can identify very easily. Next, i moved from the top of the object where my hand was placed to the bottom of it where I had not yet explored. I noticed that there was a break in the figure. As i moved my hand along the object I was able to tell that it was a plastic figurine that was some kind of animal. After getting from one end to the other i was able to identify it was a Rino. After feeling to bottom a bit more I believe that it was standing on a plastic holder that was decorated with grass as in a Savannah.

What it means to touch
Touch can mean so many things when it comes to it’s definition and its many implied meanings. To get a good idea of what touch can mean i simply went to Google and typed in “what is touch”. I went to some of the sites that looked less like a dictionary definition. In my search I found this: “Touch is essential to chiropractic. Touch is what we do best. Touch is the way we complete the connection between the chiropractor’s innate and the patient’s innate.” (Rollis para. 1). I really like this next definition because it showcases how many meanings there are to touch. “The term touch is often abstracted to express feelings of certain emotions. A particularly happy or sad event is often said to ‘touch’ those who experience it. Other emotions, such as relief, fear, anger, and surprise, cause no such response.” (Creative Commons Attributions para. 3).

The Perfect Touch
Before:
For this entry I hope to help my reader to think about touch in the non obvious way. I love planning parties and get togethers’ for my friends. My mom always had the best and most fun parties and everyone always said that she had the perfect “touch”. I have decided to write my entry about how a little personal feeling and how adding your own spin to things can be just that perfect touch. I will hope to find some web sites about party planners and use some of their ideas in my entry.
If you don’t like planning your own parties or feel that they are always a drab then consider an event planner! A good event planner ” works long and non-traditional hours to plan and execute all details related to a variety of meeting formats including seminars, conferences, trade shows, executive retreats, incentive programs, golf events, conventions, and other programs.” (Hard para. 2). They will help to ease your planning and party troubles with an event planner. You can tell them all of your ideas and look at the details to help to ad that special touch that your parties have missed in the past.
To make a party memorable and special there are simple things you can do. Making a good lasting impression can be as simple as starting with the decorations. “Decor can be as elaborate or as simple as you would like, but do something to please the eye and let your guests know what to expect. Set the tone with the decorations, from classics..” (Wills para. 1). If you are confused as to where to start then perhaps begin by picking a theme. Once you have picked an appropriate them it is then very easy to add your own touches. Just remember that the littlest things can have the biggest impact.
My final tip to making the perfect party is don’t be afraid to spend the time. Remember these helpful tips “
The more thought and time you personally put into a party that you are throwing the better it will come out. Don’t shy away from the ideas that you have because often they are similar to what an event or party planner might tell you. The party is in your hands and can be as creative as you want. You can have hand made center pieces and decorations and favors or keep it to the basics. These choices are totally up to you.
After:
I think I have done a good job at getting my point across. These are all good tips to planning the perfect party and giving it your own touch or that perfect touch you are looking for. I actually loved looking through the different sources and learning about this. As I stated before I love to cook for and plan parties so I loved learning these interesting facts.
My works cited is on it’s own page.

Smell Test Number 1
You first focus on a woman in her home in front of her full length mirror. She is wearing a charcoal gray pant suit and no color at all. We see her leave the house and get into her black car with black leather lined seats. As she drives we see the world in color through those peoples eyes who look at her, yet through her eyes we see only black , white, and gray. She parks in the parking garage and after turning off the car she grabs her black briefcase, switches to her gray heals. We follow her into her work and to her office. A quick shot of the board meeting she had to attend with everyone and everything in color except for her. We learn the office is celebrating her birthday and there are gifts, balloons, and cake in the break room. The gift she gets in Cotex nail polish and remover. Once she puts on the nail polish her world and clothes and car goes into color and then there is a message.

Do you smell that?
My goal for this blog post is to convey that the same smell can mean different things to different people. It may be one thing like freshly baked cookies and it might remind one person of when they were learning to bake and another of their grandmothers house in the summer. I am going to write a short children story about animals that smell the same smell reminds them of something completely different. My audience is obviously children and the parents that read them the story. Though truly anyone can enjoy the simplicity of a childrens book.
Once upon a time there was a little bunny named Sam. Sam was hop hop hopping down the path one day when he smelled and amazing smell. “What is that?” wondered Sam. “MMM it smells like warm chocolate chip cookies baked by my mom!” Sam exclamed. So Sam kept hopping toward the smell and along they way he ran into his good friend Whiskers the cat. “Hello Sam! What are you doing today?” asked Whiskers. “I am hopping toward that amazing smell.” said Sam. “Yes that does smell good. It reminds me of my grandmother’s house when I would visit her in the winter.” said Whiskers. As they took a big whiff they began to both move towards the smell.
As they were going down the path they pasted the pond where Frank the Frog live. “Hello there!” shouted Sam and Whiskers. “Well hello. What brings you to the pond today?” asked Frank. “We are following that wonderful smell. Would you like to come with us?” asked Sam. “What smell? Mmmm that smells like the Girl Scouts that carry their cookies past the pond. Come on, lets follow it!” exclaimed the frog.
So all three of them continued on the path following the smell. They got to a fork in the road and had to choose which one to take. They decided to go to the right and the smell got stronger. “I wonder if this is the way to my grandmas house.” said Whiskers. “No, no I think it is my moms baking that she is bringing to me” argued Sam. “You are both wrong I know that it is Girl Scout cookie season and I bet they are pushing their wagons full of cookies this way.” said Frank. As they continued down the path it began to get dark, but finally they got to the house that the smell was coming from. As they stepped near it an ugly old which came out and said “Finally, you have all come to taste my cookies. There is no turning back because you are trapped.”
To be continued…
After
I love writing in a style like this. I did stress how one smell can mean different things to everyone. I did show that each of the characters were reminded of something different when they smelled the sent of the cookies. But I did like that at the end of the story..or the end of the part of the story I threw all of them and even the reader off. They were all wrong. In that last paragraph they all insist that the smell is the memory that they associate the smell with. When in reality they were all wrong. How will the story end? I guess you will have to keep reading my posts to find out later.

Smell Free Wrighting
When thinking about smell it is hard for me not to use a narrative or to write one. I love to tell stories and any of my friends would tell you so. When i hear the word roses i think of when i am in musicals. That is a big part of my life and my family is always there in the loby afterwards with tons of flowers and of course some of them are roses. Just this last musical i was in last year, The Sound of Music, i got more flowers than i could ever imagen. I needed help to my car after the shows on Saturday because i had so many that i couldn’t carry them all. That was a happy memory for me i had just given one of the best performances of my life thus far and i know that people appreciated and enjoyed it buy what they said and of course by my flowers.

Vision Test Number 3
Dear Mr. President:
I am writing to inform you of the way that our youth is growing up. I know it sounds ridiculous, but because of many children not receiving a good public education they are becoming stupid. They enjoy things like “Happy Bunny” . A rude and sarcastic cartoon bunny that says things that are not nice or intelligent.
